Maridith taught English to kindergarten and first grade students at a bi-lingual Christian school in Tegucigalpa , Honduras from August 2007-June 2008. She lived with the family who began the school, and was 1 in a house of 11. The 2007-2008 school year was the first year of operation for the school, and with lack of funding and beginning obstacles in general, she was able to watch God provide for even the most fundamental of needs. She had such a great opportunity to pour into and encourage the family of believers she lived with, as well as the church she was involved in. Each day she was able to see her ministry reaching far beyond the 4 simple, concrete walls of her classroom, as she saw the love of Christ effect also the unbelieving families of the children she taught. In less than a year, she was able to carry on conversations with and listen to quoted scripture and songs sang all in English by kids who previously had no understanding of anything other than Spanish. But in those 10 months, God had her in a position to learn in ways she otherwise wouldn't have been in the position to learn - and is continuing to unpack the lessons she learned as she watches Him mold and refine her.
Robert served from May 2006 until May 2008 with the International Mission Board, working with an indigenous people group in the Amazon basin. For more information on the Xtreme Team, check out

After two years spent on different continents they had an unforgettable reunion. Robert and Maridith are now married and enjoying the union God has called them into. The Lanes were married on August 10, 2008 and have been busy enjoying spending every day together as married people. They know God has called them to serve Him in foreign missions for as long as He gives them life, and are looking forward to where He will lead them next.
